The
village of West Moors lies on the eastern edge of Dorset close to
the border with Hampshire. The village itself has a good range of
local shops to cater to ones daily needs, but is also only a stones
throw from the larger town of Ferndown,
2 miles away where you will find a full range of shops and leisure
facilities.
One of West Moors attractions is the large plantation, managed by
the Forestry Commission that many of residential roads
back on to. In fact, living in and around West Moors, one is surrounded
by Forests and open heaths which form the western edge of the New
Forest. To be honest, living in East
Dorset, one is spoilt for leisure facilities.Five minutes away,
you will find Moors Valley Country Park with its unique play trail
and narrow gauge railway. It also boasts a fine golf course. The
area has many excellent golf courses including Ferndown
Golf Club which hosts PGA events. If you prefer, you can enjoy
horse riding, cycling, archery and just about every pursuit you
could think of, all on your doorstep

Further afield you can take a visit to Bournemouth,
a mere 15 minutes in the car away.Bournemouth has a fine selection
of shops including Debenhams and House of Fraser stores. Of course,
it wouldn't do to talk about Bournemouth without mentioning the
beaches which have made it arguably the finest coastal resort in
Britain.If you are one of the many, who have chosen to relocate
to East Dorset through business or for a better life style, you
won't be disappointed. With superb road and rail connections, one
can be within the M25 in barely over one hour, and by train from
Bournemouth, at Waterloo in 90 minutes. In addition, you are only
15 Minutes from Bournemouth
International Airport with its regular domestic and european
flights. There are also regular ferry services to the continent
from Poole, Southampton and Portsmouth. The area, equally is noted
for it's schools which all perform well above the national average
in Government league tables.
